Discarded mattresses are covered with colorful and ornate patterns and thus stand out amongst the surrounding garbage. Acting as a bulls-eye, a thick, white circle has been added to each photograph to highlight each unique pattern. My intent is to highlight the aesthetic beauty and emotional weight in discarded objects left on the street, even if they’re in a heaping pile of trash.

These photos were taken using 35mm film. White circle is printed and then cut to shape.
